BlockFi is looking for a PR & Communications Associate to join our growing team!

About Your Team

BlockFi is looking for a PR & Communications Associate to support large-scale, impactful and strategic communications programs for this crypto financial services firm servicing 1M+ verified clients and 350+ institutions with $10 billion assets under management. This role reports to the VP of Communications and will be part of a small, yet highly efficient team within the Marketing organization. We are looking for someone who is excited to tell BlockFi’s story with the ability to learn quickly and benefit from a fast feedback loop.

Your Mission

• Support the Communications team in implementing stakeholder-centric, end-to-end communications in service of the growth of BlockFi’s overall mission: to broaden accessibility to innovative financial solutions for all.
• Develop and maintain relationships with relevant media & event organizers across consumer, financial/business, tech, and crypto publications and other channels (such as broadcast, podcasts, newsletter/substack).
• Write and develop content for internal and external communications programs - including briefing materials & messaging, social content, employee and executive communications, etc.
• Brainstorm new and compelling storylines that engage our retail and institutional clients and position our spokespeople as thought leaders in the wider crypto and finance ecosystem.
• Coordinate BlockFI PR agency relationships, providing ongoing guidance and alignment with the firm’s objectives, tracking and achieving key results.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders at BlockFi, including: People, Legal, Finance, Product and Marketing.
• Performing other project management and administrative duties as necessary, including tracking, and reporting press coverage, updating monthly brand health metrics and building media lists for proactive campaigns and announcements.

Your Expertise

• 2-4 years of communications experience; preferably at a strategic communications agency and/or experience working with fintech or financial services brands.
• A skilled writer and analytical thinker; you’ll be able to take complicated information and distill into a high-level summary and share a recommendation.
• Strong pulse on current trends across business, finance, tech and pop culture and proven track record of newsjacking and proactive media pitching on behalf of brands.
• Willingness to embrace a growth mindset with a “no task too small, no problem too big attitude.”
• Excellent organization and project management skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
• Bias towards action and the ability to promote and champion team culture in line with BlockFi’s values.
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment with diverse and competing priorities. No day is ever the same!
• Maintain your cool (and humor) in high-stakes and, at times, stressful situations. We like to have fun.
