POSITION OVERVIEW:
e.l.f. Beauty is looking for an innovative, creative and strategy-driven professional to join our team as Senior Director, Immersive Marketing. This is a newly-created and exciting role on the integrated marketing communication team reporting to the Vice President, Integrated Marketing Communication, with a dotted line to the Chief Digital Officer and respective digital team.
The Senior Director of Immersive Marketing will bring an acumen and knowledge of all things related to web3, including, but not limited to, blockchain, NFTs, built environments, augmented reality, virtual reality, gaming, monetizing new channels and the cultural trends associated within those topics. They will function as an integral and collaborate with the digital, brand, integrated marketing communication teams (media, social, influencer, and PR), acting as a subject-matter expert for the integration of Immersive Marketing topics within traditional marketing strategies. They will be responsible for ensuring e.l.f. Beauty stays at the forefront of immersive (as defined above) inside and outside the beauty category.
This role will also function as an internal resource for leadership and will be challenged, often, to provide critical recommendations, points-of-view, and hypothetical scenarios on the future of web3 and how it can / will impact consumer behavior. Their ability to keep an active pulse on trends, competitor activities, and consumer behavior related to the metaverse will be critical for success.
The ideal candidate has a background in paid media, marketing and/or agency and proven extensive experience selling through complex initiatives, innovative campaigns and has an understanding of digital and influencer and social media marketing. They should have a strong ability and experience creating and presenting proposals and ideas to C-Level executives and key stakeholder leaders.
Although this role functions within a large team, candidates should be self-starters and motivated individuals who will be expected to work independently with support from consultants. They will work the 360 GTM team to advance the agenda of the metaverse within the organization that include but not limited to budgets, external agency partner(s) and vendors, as well as cross-functional teams within e.l.f. Beauty.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create & drive the metaverse/web3 strategy for e.l.f. Beauty.
- Identify, negotiate, and secure first-to-market opportunities for e.l.f. Beauty and its partners within the Metaverse/web3.
- Act as in-house resource for the Metaverse/web3 providing leadership & executives with trends and behavior reports.
- Manage all Metaverse/web3 projects from ideation to post-mortem reporting.
- Partner with digital, brand, integrated marketing communication teams to ideate and identify opportunities with key partners within the Metaverse/web3.0/Immersive and Experiential Marketing bringing thought leadership linked to overall Brand strategies.
- Partner with PR, Influencer, Paid Media and Social teams to identify buzz-building opportunities to keep AE top of mind with earned media.
- Partner with Brand, Integrated Marketing Communication and Digital teams to effectively launch Metaverse/web3.0 and experiential marketing campaigns.
- Manage the effectiveness of external vendors and agencies within Metaverse/web3 and experiential marketing projects.
- Experiential marketing digital and IRL activations where creating memorable and innovative customer experiences to create deep emotional connections between the customers and the brand
- Establish KPI and Monthly measurement of Metaverse/web3 and experiential marketing campaigns and projects.
- Identify alternative revenue opportunities for e.l.f. Beauty within Metaverse/web3.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
- At least 10+ years of experience at an agency (media and/or marketing), strategy or planning role.
- Some experience launching or working on Metaverse/web3 projects OR a proven subject-matter expertise.
- Experience launching integrated marketing campaigns that include experiential marketing activations
- Strong presentation skills with experience pitching and selling through ideas to C-level executives and key stakeholder leaders.
- Experience managing budgets linked to Metaverse/web3.
- Experience with digital execution with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness.
- Experience with regular reporting, collaborative strategic planning and ongoing campaign optimization.
- High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
- Beauty experience is preferred but not required.
