Company Description

YJVC (Yousuf Jamil Venture Capital) is dedicated to partnering with visionary entrepreneurs to support the growth of next-generation product-driven startups. With a proven track record in venture capital, we provide seed funding, strategic guidance, and mentorship to help startups reach their full potential. We focus on accelerating innovation and empowering founders who are reshaping industries and driving meaningful change. YJVC prides itself on fostering impactful, profitable businesses that define the future.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in New York, NY for a Web3 KOL & Key Opinion Leader Business Development (BD) Manager. The BD Manager will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and building relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in the Web3 ecosystem to amplify YJVC's brand and its portfolio companies. The role includes executing outreach strategies, negotiating partnerships, fostering collaborations with prominent figures in the decentralized technology space, tracking the success of KOL engagement campaigns, and staying informed on emerging trends in Web3 communities. Collaboration with marketing, investment, and product teams is essential to maximize impact.

Qualifications

  1. Extensive network of contacts in crypto media: You already have a database of dozens of vetted KOLs of various calibers, and you know whom to text at 2 a.m. to get an urgent review out tomorrow.
  2. Negotiation and sales skills: You can haggle, justify the price, and convince a blogger to work not only for cash but also for tokens, allocations, or reputation.
  3. Understanding of crypto audiences and platforms: You know the difference between the audience of Crypto Twitter, YouTube reviewers, Telegram admins, and Twitch streamers, and you match the KOL to the specific task.
  4. Analytical thinking: You don't believe a blogger's report of "I have a million viewers"; you check real engagement, bots in the followers, and conversion into actions.
  5. Stress resilience and flexibility: KOLs miss deadlines, ask for more money at the last minute, and post the wrong thing. You solve these problems instead of panicking.
