Web3 Senior Director, Ticketing Strategy & Marketing, Club Business Development

Job Description

Overview /Objective

In addition to supporting all local revenue streams, the NFL’s Club Business Development department (Club BD) supports the 32 clubs in delivering direct local value & optimization, best-in-class fan experiences via data-driven insights, and innovative fan and stadium enhancements and strategies, through direct Club Consulting, strategic analysis, and Club benchmarking. In addition to working directly with the clubs, Club BD works cross-functionally to help guide key strategic initiatives at a League level. The team utilizes a combination of analytics and functional expertise in sales, marketing, data & analytics, and more to develop 'next practices' and facilitates the sharing of 'best practices' between clubs.

The Sr Director of Ticketing Strategy & Marketing will lead key priorities across both the League and Clubs with a core focus on the NFL ticketing ecosystem and local Marketing initiatives. The role will require driving value and local revenue through ticketing and marketing strategies for all 32 Clubs while also growing value for the League through the NFL Ticket Network. This role will report into the VP of Club Business Development and be a trusted advisor amongst the Club Business Development leadership group.

Responsibilities

  • Establish standard and efficient operating procedures for communication between the League’s NFL Ticket Network partners and serve as a liaison between the partners and Clubs.
  • Drive strategic thinking around the future of NFL ticketing; Towards future ticketing deal cycles and overall to improve the NFL’s ticketing ecosystem.
  • Oversee NFT and blockchain ticketing programs and future testing & growth opportunities.
  • In partnership with Club Finance, consider ticketing and other League policy changes that can benefit Operations and Sales for all 32 Clubs.
  • Develop and implement strategic marketing plans, marketing benchmarks, and best practices to help Clubs achieve annual ticket sales goals and efficient sales strategies, promotions and tactics.
  • Maintain consistent oversight and awareness of Club ticket sales marketing campaign results, and proactively make suggestions and recommendations, as needed, to optimize results.
  • Help lead ticket sales and marketing campaigns for select League tentpole events & national ticket sales campaigns to support NFL ticket sales (i.e., Schedule release, Back Together Saturday, etc.).
  • Collaborate with Club Consulting group Account Directors and Account Managers to grow season ticket member base, drive season ticket member retention and new sales.
  • Collaborate across League Office with Marketing, Events, Consumer Products, Data & Analytics, Club Finance, International, IT, Club Media, and more, while developing strong relationships with all 32 Clubs.
  • Be a cultural leader in the group, driving recruitment and retention of top talent.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree: MBA preferred.
  • 10-15 years of experience in management consulting, project management, Club operations, Ticketing, Marketing or related fields.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of management experience (projects and/or people).
  • Team, league, or agency experience preferred.

  • Expert in communications – written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and financial analysis skills coupled with the ability to use data to craft strategic recommendations and guidance internally and to the Clubs.
  • Excellent team leadership and management skills; Ability to mentor top talent.
  • Problem solving and issue resolution skills.
  • Ability to navigate successfully a matrixed, cross-organizational landscape, fostering strong relationships along the way.
  • Negotiating skills and familiarity reading / reviewing / writing contractual language.
  • Proven leader who excels at process, project management, and delivering on high priorities.
  • Unwavering commitment to honest and ethical business interactions.

  • Ability to develop, execute and analyze ticket sales marketing campaigns.
  • Strong knowledge of ticketing landscape including across emerging technology, ticketing operations and across both primary and secondary ticketing.
  • Ability to negotiate large and complex deal structures.
  • Ability to understand and become resident expert across current ticketing deal contracts and any new deals.
  • Ability to anticipate clubs' needs and match them with appropriate work products and/or individuals at the League Office.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, good time management and organizational skills.
  • Deep experience in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Social media competency.
  • Detail oriented.

Salary / Pay Range

The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week.
