Responsibilities
- Lead and manage escalated sanctions-related cases ensuring timely response and resolution across the team.
- Provide expert guidance on the interpretation and application of sanctions compliance regulations.
- Develop, manage and enhance the Sanctions Escalation Procedure.
- Maintain comprehensive records of escalated inquiries, actions, and resolutions to ensure complete accountability.
- Liaise with various departments internally and support regulatory bodies externally, to ensure the organization's full compliance with sanctions laws.
- Monitor regulatory developments and updates related to sanctions and ensure relevant stakeholders within the company are aware.
- Train various business units and individuals on sanction matters, leading to an organization-wide understanding and adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
- Work to continuously improve upon existing sanction protocols.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in handling sanctions matters within a financial services environment, preferably in a global organization.
- Strong knowledge of international sanctions regulations and laws.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to understand and explain complex regulatory issues.
- Strong analytical skills with great attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with an understanding of when escalation is appropriate.
- Confident and effective decision-making skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal. Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
