Responsibilties

• Manage Binance Global IP strategy, including all aspects of registration of IP, protection of IP (including IP litigation) and technology & data licensing.
• Manage our brand protection efforts across multiple brands and businesses to protect our consumers from fraudulent operators.
• Provide strategic legal advice and counsel on a variety of licensing, intellectual property, commercial and other legal topics.
• Perform or supervise IP due diligence and advise on IP risks in M&A and other commercial transactions.
• Partner with cross-functional and regional teams to provide support on a wide range of transactional matters.
• Drafting and negotiating contracts for different business lines, providing holistic risk assessments and suggestions to enhance business value while mitigating downside risk across multiple areas of the company.
• Anticipate and maintain up-to-date knowledge of current laws relevant to your own substantive area to provide strategic advice and foster a culture of compliance.
• Identify legal framework developments, align and promote consistency of approach in legal matters between internal stakeholders.
• Take prudent risks within the context of the overall business, and advise and implement solutions to address issues identified.

Requirements

• Qualified to practice law in Hong Kong, Singapore or a common-law jurisdiction.
• 6-10 PQE working in-house at a well-established organization or at a global law firm.
• Transactional experience in tech, e-commerce, fintech or payments.
• Strong team player and good business sense.
• Has a proven track-record of advising on IP and commercial matters.
• Possesses strong legal technical expertise as well as exceptional business acumen and people skills.
• Hands-on work ethic as well as ability to independently manage complex projects.
• Develop relevant and creative solutions to meet current and evolving business needs.
• Excellent command of written and spoken Mandarin and English is mandatory to work with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
