At Jito Labs, we are building maximum extractable value (MEV) infrastructure for blockchains, starting with Solana. The system we're building integrates with validators to enable a more profitable and decentralized network.

We are looking to make our first hire for a senior engineer. The ideal candidate is a self-directed and quick learning engineer that is excited about the blockchain space and wants to work on cutting edge distributed systems. Our systems will process tens of millions of transactions everyday and billions of dollars every month. Blockchain and MEV experience isn't required, but highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help define products and roadmaps.
• Architect software systems across all domains - backend, front end, data
• Engineer high throughput, low latency messaging systems across multiple regions.
• Build simulation and indexing systems for transactions.
• Reverse engineer and modify blockchain codebases, ensuring that there are no performance or consensus regressions.
• Develop smart contracts that will hold billions of dollars and work with auditors to ensure no vulnerabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Early-stage startup experience. Self-directed, fast learner, and ability to decide what technical tradeoffs need to be made to ship fast.
• Languages: Rust, C, C++, Go, or Python. Our codebase is written in Rust.
• Preferred: Familiar with blockchains, crypto-currency, and decentralized finance (defi).
• Preferred: Maximum Extractable Value (MEV) or high-frequency trading (HFT) experience.
