We are looking for an experienced Engineering manager to help lead our blockchain development team in building a cutting-edge blockchain network to unlock sustainable economic growth and social advancement around the world. You will work closely across our engineering and product teams to both advise users on their Topl implementation as well as troubleshoot and resolve issues that may emerge.

What you'll bring:

• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering field
• 2+ years experience acting in a managerial capacity, specifically coordinating requirements and timelines with stakeholders and leading a team to execute, test, and iterate on those priorities.
• Comfortable with Scala >2.12.x, Java 11 or higher, and functional programming
• Must be a strong communicator, able to discuss and meaningfully contribute to architecture and design discussions
• Competent with at least one major cloud service provider (AWS, GCP, Azure, DigitalOcean, etc.)
• You’re ready to come with enthusiasm for Topl’s mission of using technology to positively impact that world
• You care about building more than just product and are ready to help build culture and best practices in an emerging company
• Authorized to work in the US

Bonus qualifications:

• Prior work experience in blockchain implementation or to create tools and APIs for external developers
• Fluent in Scala libraries such as Akka Typed, Cats, Circe, etc and/or functional approaches such as tagless-final and typeclasses
• Experience with containerization / orchestration tools such as Docker or Kubernetes

What you'll do:

• Manage a team of highly skilled engineers in an agile environment
• Contribute to the overall design and architecture of Topl's layer-1 blockchain protocol
• Help develop libraries and tools to make integration onto the Topl blockchain seamless for external developers and users
• Collaborate closely with both Topl’s CTO and Chief Architect
• Perform and participate in code reviews
• Help communicate and implement best practices across the engineering team
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks

We are located in Texas and believe that the best results come when our team is together and collaborating in person. However, fully remote applicants will be considered for this position.
