6th Man Ventures (6MV) is a thesis driven Crypto Fund investing in the most talented, inventive and tenacious founders across the global crypto and blockchain landscape. Our ethos stems from the game of basketball, where every legendary team has a strong 6th Man to help off the bench. We are building a world-class team to support a portfolio of 100+ projects, protocols and companies, as well as growth of the broader crypto ecosystem.

We are hiring a Head of Operations - someone who has experience managing complex fund dynamics and working with our Limited Partners. We are looking for someone who can 1) work with our various services organizations (i.e. fund admin, legal, compliance, auditors, tax, etc.) to optimize and scale fund operations and 2) act as a liaison to 6MV LPs and founders on operational issues. You will develop deep relationships with our broad group of stakeholders, drive firm day-to-day operations, coordinate with our service providers, help set up events and ā€œLP Daysā€, keep investors informed about fund performance and relevant market information, and ensure operational efficiency with our portfolio companies.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in operations at an investment fund who is deeply interested in the crypto ecosystem, has experience working with high impact people and organizations in the crypto market and wants to take on a critical role scaling the operations function at a high growth, top-performing fund.

6MV is seeking an individual who is able to start immediately. We are flexible on location, although a NYC based individual would be desirable.

Ideally we are looking for someone with a unique mix of skills in fund operations, accounting/finance, and sales/marketing.. Crypto interest and demonstrated activity are needed as crypto cultural acuity is critical to seamlessly interacting with all stakeholders. You will be representing 6MV, so in addition to strong communication skills, we want you to be a conduit to investors in the crypto community.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive firm operations, building and managing internal processes for daily firm tasks.
  • Act as a conduit between the company and its investors, guaranteeing transparent and efficient communication regarding investment performance, market dynamics, and strategic trajectories.
  • Work closely with the partners to synchronize capital raising, operations, and management tactics.
  • Collaborate with third-party services organizations employed by the firm including fund admin, compliance, auditors and legal. Lead vendor assessment and key 3rd party hiring decisions.
  • Evaluate market trends and investor feedback to shape fund development strategies and product offerings around the crypto market.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory mandates and crypto industry standards concerning investor relations and fundraising endeavors.
  • Build materials for investor relations outreach and LP updates.
  • Coordinate firm cash management and reconciliation on-chain activity.

Ideal Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in an operations role preferably at a venture capital firm, private equity firm or hedge fund or able to ramp up quickly as a result of relevant previous experience
  • Very strong organization and presentation skills
  • Keen attention to detail and effective time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task without sacrificing quality of work
  • Ability to take feedback constructively with an attitude focused on constant improvement
  • Ability to be responsive and follow through in a timely manner
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form
  • Understanding of and passion for the crypto markets
  • Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally for community engagement, developer summits, presentations, meetings and conferences
