We are looking for a Part time (20 hours per week) Manual QA / Product Tester to support testing across the Status app and related product surfaces. The ideal person is detail-oriented, curious, and comfortable exploring mobile and desktop apps to identify functional issues, UI inconsistencies, UX friction, and unclear product flows. Responsibilities:

Exploratory testing of existing app features and reporting functional, UI, and UX issues based on guidance from the Product Lead. Testing newly developed features and product improvements before release. Testing features and retesting fixes in release builds when preparing new app releases. Reproducing bugs and gathering useful details to help developers understand the issue, including steps to reproduce, screenshots, screen recordings, device information, and expected vs. actual behavior. Working with QA automation engineers to ensure manually identified bugs are reviewed for automation where relevant. Occasionally checking the website, Apple App Store, and Google Play product pages to make sure there are no obvious issues. Reviewing product requirements for new features from a user perspective and flagging anything that feels unclear, confusing, or difficult to use. Documenting how features work in the app based on hands-on exploration and testing.

What we’re looking for:

Experience with manual QA, product testing, app testing, or a strong interest in developing in this area. Should be a strong mobile messenger app user. Experience with crypto wallets and mobile browsers is a strong plus. Strong attention to detail and the ability to spot inconsistencies, bugs, or confusing user flows. Clear written communication and the ability to document issues in a structured way. A user-focused mindset and willingness to test features from the perspective of real users. Comfort using and testing mobile and desktop applications. Ability to follow testing guidance, ask good questions, and work collaboratively with Product, Engineering, and QA. Curious about leveraging AI in manual and semi-manual testing to optimize and reduce repetitive QA work.

Nice to have:

Experience testing iOS, Android, desktop (Windows/MacOS), or web applications. Familiarity with bug-tracking tools or release testing processes. Experience writing documentation, test notes, or issue reports. Interest in crypto, wallets, messaging apps, or privacy-focused products.
