THE POSITION

As the Senior Content Marketing Manager for CoinDesk, you’ll create high-impact cryptocurrency and blockchain content for CoinDesk’s target audiences, working cross-functionally and also partnering with others on the marketing team, delivering content that creates awareness and drives engagement across the customer journey. 

The ideal candidate already has a “voice” of their own, lives in the crypto world but makes it all understandable for a mainstream audience. You have your own following on crypto twitter but also are interested in continuing to build a far-reaching social media following and further establishing your thought leadership, as well as acting as a strong voice for CoinDesk and for the most influential event in crypto and blockchain, Consensus by CoinDesk. You delight and succeed in reaching a connected, Gen Z mainstream audience, across various online communities and media e.g. Telegram, Discord, ClubHouse, in the metaverse, via DAOs… etc.

You produce snappy, clever, compelling content in “consumer language.” You are a marketing strategist who is equal parts creative and data-driven.

You have deep content marketing experience and also a very strong understanding and constantly growing passion for the emerging and constantly changing cryptocurrency, blockchain and decentralized finance markets. You can communicate clearly and in the right tone to both crypto experts and novices.

As we build out CoinDesk streaming content with our digital TV channel of news and show series, expand our podcast offerings, become the leading crypto index provider, and continue to put on the most influential events in the industry, we need a content marketer and storyteller with crypto expertise and understanding who can help us showcase all we have to offer and drive engagement with our brand across all our platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner across the marketing and design team, events content team, product team, editorial teams to help develop content strategy and own the content execution plan for key marketing campaigns.
• Produce high quality, compelling content on all CoinDesk marketing channels, manage CoinDesk branded video, interactive content experiences, and other content.
• Own the content marketing for the most influential crypto industry event in the world, Consensus by CoinDesk and be willing to promote it on your own social media or newsletter/ community channels
• Track and report content performance metrics and use that data in content planning cycles.
• Draft copy across digital channels including blogs, virtual events/webinars, emails/ texts, landing pages, thought leadership, selling materials, internal materials and more.
• Partner to test new approaches and optimize content to drive better results.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of content marketing experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, strong preference for crypto industry
• MUST HAVE: Solid knowledge of crypto and blockchain industry and cryptocurrency trends and ability to write about them to both an expert audience and a mainstream, novice audience. Financial services and index business knowledge is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal skills. Excellent editing / spelling skills and meticulous attention to detail
• Data-driven mindset with a strong creative, imaginative flair for out of the box content ideas and user experiences: and a proven track record of using metrics to develop and iterate on content
• Team player with a positive can-do attitude
• BS/BA degree, preferably (but not necessarily) in Marketing, Communications, or Journalism.
