Crypto.com’s fast-growing US operation is looking for a seasoned privacy professional to lead our US Privacy Program. You will work alongside a top-tier global privacy team which has already achieved the highest levels of compliance with NIST Privacy Framework and ISO 27701. You will be tasked with growing this world-class privacy program within the ever-changing US privacy landscape.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Crypto.com's Privacy Program expansion into the US;
  • Advise on all aspects of privacy laws and regulations affecting Crypto.com’s US operations, with particular emphasis on GLBA, CCPA/CPRA and other state-specific privacy laws, biometric data collection, consumer protection, AdTech/MarTech, and law enforcement requests for information;
  • Monitor developments in the US privacy regulation landscape (e.g. CCPA, CPRA, Colorado Privacy Act, Virginia CDPA, Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, etc.);
  • Draft privacy-related documents including policies, procedures, data processing agreements, and opinions;
  • Perform Privacy Impact Assessments;
  • Manage vendor relationships from a privacy perspective;
  • Coordinate with internal audit team to make sure Crypto.com is always audit-ready from a privacy perspective;
  • Support the global training program of Crypto.com employees from a privacy perspective;
  • Assist with data subject requests made by US customers;
  • Handle requests for information from US law enforcement and financial authorities;
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc advice on various business operations from a privacy perspective, including marketing, employment, and business development;
  • Support the Data Protection Officer and the global privacy operations, including by keeping strong intra-team business relationships;

At least 3 years relevant experience, including:

  • Leading an enterprise privacy program;
  • Developing privacy-related policies and procedures;
  • Deep knowledge of CCPA and AG's regulations;
  • Deep knowledge of state data breach notification requirements;
  • Dealing with data subject requests;
  • Performing data protection impact assessments;
  • Managing vendor relationships from a privacy perspective;
  • Managing privacy-related aspects of day-to-day business activities;
  • Drafting privacy-related documents, policies, and procedures;
  • Deep knowledge of the USA privacy regulatory framework;
  • Learning quickly about a fast-changing regulatory environment (preferably FinTech);
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills in a diverse multinational environment;
  • Ability to provide practical, risk-based advice within a highly-regulated industry;
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to run multiple projects in parallel;
  • At least one privacy certification, including but not limited to CIPM, CIPP/US, CIPT;
  • Fluency in English.

Stand-out candidates will have the following extras:

  • Knowledge or deep interest in the cryptocurrency ecosystem;
  • Privacy and/or data protection compliance experience within the EU, Canada, and APAC regions;
  • Compliance experience with US financial regulations;
  • Experience developing/implementing a privacy management program;
  • Legal/paralegal background;
  • Experience with privacy and security audits;
  • Experience communicating with regulatory authorities;
  • Excellent communication culture in a diverse multinational environnement;
  • Experience with US information security regulations;
  • Experience with compliance management platforms such OneTrust or TrustArc.
