About The Role Kraken is growing and we’re looking for a Public Relations Associate to join the exciting world of crypto as we work to position Kraken as a top destination for all things crypto. 

In this remote position, you’ll keep  tabs on crypto news as well as current events, and report back on newsworthy angles to help inform our overall PR strategy. Using  your strong attention to detail and research skills, you’ll make sure our teams have the correct press contact information while  regularly updating our media lists. In addition, you’ll have to wear your creative writing hat to help draft press releases, media alerts, interview FAQs, and more for our North America team members. Every day is a different adventure in the crypto PR world, but you’ll certainly have the opportunity to grow and flex your external and even internal communication skills in this role reporting to the Global Director of Communications.

What You’ll Be Doing • Keeping a pulse on mainstream crypto headlines and making suggestions to the communications team on what’s driving news coverage • Assisting with the preparation of necessary research for building strategies/campaigns for upcoming/current initiatives • Building and maintaining media lists regularly • Distributing press releases, media alerts and updating our press room • Taking a first stab at talking points and other draft materials for the organization • Ensuring external communications messages/campaigns are consistent across all mediums  • Using media monitoring tools to develop criteria and measure success of media campaigns • Preparing timely team and campaign updates on PR initiative execution  • Identifying opportunities to develop and optimize external communications  • Liaising across teams on special projects within your realm of expertise

Who You Are  • You have 2+ years of experience in a client side or agency side public relations role • You have a Bachelors in communications, public relations, journalism or equivalent field • You have a high-level understanding of the crypto/blockchain landscape and crypto ethos as well as an insatiable appetite to learn more. • You have excellent written and verbal communications skills, and prioritize clarity & brevity in all communications • You have a strong sense of urgency when projects are assigned and are able to complete a task quickly while anticipating the need to plan for another project in short succession • You’re highly organized and have an exceptionally high level of attention to detail • You’re a go-getter and self-starter who can operate individually with a team mentality.  • You have a flexibility about you under fire - as this industry continues to evolve, being “quick on your feet” is a must • You have a highly collaborative work >
