Senior Risk and Controls Manager

We are looking for an experienced governance and risk management professional to work closely with the Head of Risk to ensure OKX UK's risks are managed appropriately in coordination with OK Group functions globally that will support the UK firm under an intra-group outsourcing arrangement. You will be responsible for coordinating with and overseeing group-wide functions globally across OK Group who will support OKX UK in maintaining operational resilience and managing its risks.
To succeed in this role, you should be a reliable professional who is not afraid to speak their mind and stand by their decisions. You should be familiar with capital markets products and have a good understanding of risk management and control frameworks. This role requires a deep understanding of enterprise risk management, outsourcing governance, regulatory compliance, operational best practices within financial services and preferably knowledge of cryptocurrency exchanges.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Head of Risk in the development and execution of the outsourcing governance framework, including the continued development of governance protocols and best practice;
  • Work with OK Group functions to ensure excellent service provision to OKX UK and compliance with regulatory requirements;
  • Work with OK Group functions to conduct comprehensive risk assessments, focusing on enterprise risks and operational resilience;
  • Develop key risk indicators and metrics to monitor OKX UK’s risk profile against the risk appetite set out in the OKX UK Risk Appetite Statement;
  • Develop and produce high quality informative and engaging risk reports for the Risk Committee and Board;
  • Collaborate with Information Technology Operations, Product and Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Digital Assets Custody to implement risk technology and security risk mitigation strategies and enhance operational controls;
  • Work closely with Compliance colleagues to oversee and manage risk-related activities in Customer Due Diligence Operations, AML Operations (Transaction Monitoring/Alert Review), Sanction Operations and Legal Operations;
  • Work with other specialist group functions to manage risk and control effectives across all areas of risk faced by OKX UK, including Fraud Risk Operations, Customer Services, Human Resources, Marketing and Growth, Third Party Risk Management, Legal, and Finance departments;
  • Work with financial risk management functions to build out OKX UK’s capital, liquidity and financial risk framework;
  • Maintain and develop the OKX UK risk management framework, policies, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to industry standards;
  • Analyze emerging risks and trends in the cryptocurrency market, advising senior management on appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or related field;
  • Approximately ten years experience in risk management, preferably within the crypto industry or capital markets;
  • Strong knowledge of financial services and markets regulation, preferably with knowledge of emerging crypto industry regulations;
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels;
  • Professional certifications such as FRM, CFA, or CAMS are desirable.
