About the Role
We are seeking a senior compliance and controls leader to own the end-to-end design, implementation, and continuous improvement of our compliance infrastructure. In this foundational role, you will oversee KYC/KYB/CDD/AML product strategy, internal controls, and regulatory alignment—safeguarding Squads against financial crime, fraud, and operational risk.
What you will be doing
Own end-to-end collection of KYC|KYB /CDD/AML processes, from onboarding and vendor management to ongoing monitoring and risk scoring and collaborating with several vendors
Act as product owner for compliance tooling, streamlining workflows and enabling automation across teams.
Design and improve internal controls, run audits, and ensure readiness for external reviews and regulatory exams.
Investigate suspicious activity and conduct on-chain analysis to detect fraud, laundering, and compliance risks.
Translate global regulations (MiCA, DORA, GDPR, etc.) into actionable policies, frameworks, and tools.
Partner with Legal, Finance, Security, and Product to embed compliance into business processes.
Report to senior leadership and regulators with clear insights on risk, controls, and compliance posture.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in compliance, internal audit, risk management, or a similar function within a Fintech
Demonstrated expertise in KYC/KYB, AML policies, sanctions screening, and suspicious activity investigations
Experience implementing or auditing against standards such as SOC 2, GDPR, MiCA, DORA, ISO 27001
Familiarity with compliance frameworks applicable to crypto/virtual asset service providers (VASPs)
Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate and interpret both on-chain and traditional financial data
Excellent communication skills, especially when collaborating with non-technical teams or external stakeholders
Highly organized, independent, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
Nice to have
Certifications such as CAMS, CISA, CIA, or equivalent
Hands-on experience with blockchain analytics platforms (e.g., Chainalysis, Elliptic, TRM, Notabene)
Familiarity with tools for identity verification and sanctions screening (e.g. Persona, Sumsub)
Prior experience working with remote-first fintech, crypto, or Web3 organizations
