With a mission to make crypto accessible and secure for Telegram's vast user base, we're seeking a highly skilled Head of Compliance/MLRO to play a pivotal role in driving the adoption of crypto and Web3.

As the Head of Compliance/MLRO, you'll be at the forefront of our operations, ensuring Wallet works smoothly within regulatory frameworks while championing innovation in the Web3 ecosystem.

Collaborating closely with diverse teams, you'll assess compliance-related risks, develop regulatory strategies, and fortify AML/CTF frameworks for our platform.

This role includes:

• Managing an existing team of 40+ compliance team members (including onboarding & monitoring specialists); by the end of 2024, we estimate the compliance team to grow to 100+ members. We do have a dedicated team for compliance operations to support this.
• Facing our supervisory authority as the main point of contact.
• Being technology-savvy and offering smart ways to scale and streamline the work of our compliance department. Have a great understanding of how leading vendors in the KYC/KYT and custody area work.
• Being data-driven and offering ways to monitor and control our exposures, with a focus on our AML/CTF. Compliance is allocated a separate business analyst to support this.
• Having a stellar understanding of risks inherent in the Web3 space and how to mitigate them, including AML/CTF risks. Have a great command of the risk-based approach.
• Managing outsourcing arrangements and closely collaborating with external consultants and partners.
• Playing an active role in shaping our product features while keeping our compliance commitments intact.
• Being up-to-date with the state of the industry and the best practices in it.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in prudential compliance and AML/CTF. ACAMS certification preferred but not a prerequisite.
• Experience in Web3 is an advantage, though experience in innovative TradFi products is also acceptable.
• Eligible to work in the UAE or readiness to relocate there.
• Meet the skills and experience requirements for a Compliance Officer/MLRO of a VARA authorized VASP.
