Sr. Manager, Growth & Marketing (Web3)
Scopely is looking for an experienced, hands-on Growth and Marketing professional to define and execute go-to-market strategy for a soon-to-be announced triple-A game built for web3. Scopely believes that blockchain technologies offer new avenues of player empowerment that will revolutionize the gaming industry, enabling new ways of engaging with digital content and communities. This role will be instrumental in driving customer acquisition, usage, and brand image by defining and delivering on compelling marketing, promotion and brand development initiatives as a core member of the game team at the forefront of the future of play. The ideal candidate is flexible, highly motivated, and approachable, with excellent communication skills honed by years of experience in game marketing, GTM, and growth roles. The successful candidate will also have a deep personal and/or professional curiosity of the blockchain space. You'll be passionate about shaping the future of web3 and blockchain gaming and will also thrive in a fast-moving, fluid environment. You are the whole package of a self-motivated team player who can think strategically but is also prepared to roll up your sleeves and work with team members around the world.
Responsibilities / Role:
- Lead the strategic development and execution of a blockchain game’s product growth and marketing strategy
- Drive integrated global tentpole campaigns that excite and engage both web3 and traditional free-to-play audiences
- Manage all aspects of product launches, from messaging to press to social media
- Partner with agencies and across the team to craft and deliver compelling marketing content based on audience segmentation that accelerates the adoption of our products
- Develop a distinct global brand identity for the game, including positioning, USPs, and brand identity
- Develop a strategic relationship with the product team to guide the ongoing development of new in game features and IRL NFT community experiences
- Partner with the Global Influencers and Events team to develop coordinated programs across paid and organic channels
- Support projects related to Community Management, Influencer Relations, Creative Services, User Acquisition, Brand Management, Player Experience and others
- Help to coordinate the execution and prize delivery for marketing contests and sweepstakes winners with third parties
- Work closely with Media team on continuously ideating and testing the most effective advertising campaigns that are both on brand and deliver excellent KPIs
- Improve community growth, communication, and community retention
- Engage and nurture our discord community managers and community members - demonstrate thought leadership in how our game is portrayed in Discord, Twitter, and other social media
- Develop engaging web3 educational content relevant for onboarding customers to our game
Preferred Skills:
- 5+ years of consumer marketing experience
- Experience working with a Mass Market Global gaming, entertainment, or cultural brand
- Experience in developing/driving impactful creative campaigns, with exceptional creative and aesthetic judgment
- Experience in digital advertising and marketing targeting
- Deep understanding of the role community plays at the center of web3 gaming products
- Strong passion for and foundational (non-technical) understanding of NFTs, blockchain, crypto, metaverse and gamer culture
- Team player - able to effectively engage stakeholders, agencies, partners & community members – able to hear, process, and respond to feedback to produce creative solutions to meet their needs
- Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a rapidly shifting landscape
- Strong work ethic, great interpersonal and communication skills, experience managing conflicts, and ability to respond creatively to challenges
- Able to build authentic relationships, comfortable engaging with people from all walks of life
- Good time-management skills
- Tech savvy - you easily learn new tools and have experience with Project Management tools and GSuite
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Can work independently, a self-starter
