Entrepreneur in Residence
Mechanism has multiple EIR (Entrepreneur in Residence) opportunities available. We work with founders, or small founding teams, that want to build on Bitcoin and Stacks. Our focus is on DeFi, DAOs, and NFTs. Our goal is to provide you with funding, time, and resources to explore your protocol idea and develop it into a new venture.
Early in the program we can introduce you to Stacks, the Stacks community, and the unique opportunities that currently exist today. Mid-program we can help you explore protocol designs and quickly validate your ideas. We can also provide technical resources. The truth is, Bitcoin is technically challenging and having an expert like Hank will save you a ton of time. Near the end of the program, weโll help you launch, raise funding, and apply to the Stacks accelerator or grants.
Who can apply?
The ideal EIR is an experienced founder, or small founding team, from Web 2 or Web 3 that wants to build on Stacks or Bitcoin. Ideally the founder has deep experience in community building and technical crypto knowledge. The founder must be ready to commit full time.
The program is remote, but our team converges several times each year so youโll likely see us in the real world at some point. ๐
What is the compensation?
Compensation will vary. It will likely be similar to a remote, full time role, at a venture backed startup located in the USA.
What is the process?
Similar to a standard interview process. It will be a series of conversations. We may also ask for your initial plans and research on the protocol ideas that you want to build.
Who will you work with?
One-on-one with our founders. We will only work with 1 or 2 EIRs at a time.
How long does the program last?
As long as it takes to take your protocol idea from zero to one. That said, we expect that process to take 3-6 months.
