About the role:

The Head of Operations, Japan is to ensure Crypto.com to be recognized as a leading Crypto asset exchanger as well as payment card issuer in Japan through the excellent operations and customer support to our valued customers.

As a Head of Operations, Japan, you’ll be fully responsible for leading a team of experienced operations professionals to provide an excellent experience for our customers. You will be responsible for the delivery and execution of operations that cover end-to-end customer experience operations through their life cycle, risk operations, payments / reconciliation etc. You will work with a global operation team as well as other team leaders / colleagues domestically and internationally to achieve a seamless customer experience and scale in a thoughtful, effective way.

This position will report to the EVP, Operations and will be based in Tokyo, Japan.

In this role, you will:

Pre-Commercial Launch

  • Take the lead of design and implementation of necessary operations in Japan working closely with the global operation team as well as other teams in Japan.
  • Develop and implement internal operation process and collaboration model to provide best-in-class customer experiences that meets regulatory / industry standard as well as market expectation for both Crypto exchange business and payment card business.
  • Provide necessary support to the regulatory license application efforts with internal functions and external stakeholders to assure quality responses to regulators regarding regulatory licensing.

    Post-Commercial Launch
  • Responsible for leading our Operations team in Japan to serve our customers throughout their lifecycle across multiple issue types and channels.
  • Be a thought leader for how to provide a world class experience for our customers.
  • Oversee end-to-end operations for the customers in Japan in a quality manner that includes but not limited to
    • Customer success - customer onboarding and ongoing supportand complaints handling
    • Fraud risk management
  • Local payments processing and operational reconciliation
  • 6 -10 years’ experience in relevant fields described in Role column both or either Cryptocurrency and Card payment (issuer) organizations in Japan market
  • Experience and knowledge of system, security at Cryptocurrency and payment card business
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management in an organized, professional manner
  • Ability to work within and lead a cross functional team, locally and internationally
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in written form in a clear, concise, and professional manner for both Japanese and English.
  • Strong interpersonal skill, negotiation, time management, attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Project management skill: ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Analytical thinking and business acumen
  • Knowledge of the Payment Services Act (θ³‡ι‡‘ζ±ΊζΈˆζ³•), Financial Instruments and Exchange Act (ι‡‘θžε•†ε“ε–εΌ•ζ³•), Act on Sales of Financial Instruments (ι‡‘θžε•†ε“θ²©ε£²ζ³•) a plus;
  • Experience interacting with local regulators (FSA) a plus.
