We are seeking a skilled Lead/Senior Software Engineer - AI & NLP to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and operationalising a variety of NLP models including summarisation, question-answering, semantic search, named entity recognition, knowledge discovery, document understanding, and text classification. These models would be directly used in Splore’s main task of providing a novel community-driven search tool on a combination of traditional and user-generated content in specialized domains.

In this role, you’ll need to:

• Analyze large sets of data from various sources, including websites, wikis, conversation platforms, social media platforms, and databases
• Build NLP models to extract knowledge from these sources
• Help set up semantic search and question answering on these sources
• Develop response blending and summarisation models to provide an overview of search results from these sources
• Deploy learning-to-rank and RLHF models to improve the accuracy of results shown to users
• Be involved in operationalizing these models in highly demanding production environments
• Conduct regular tests of the models to ensure they meet desired metrics on both benchmark and usage datasets

You Should Apply If You Possess:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of related job experience
• Experience in deep learning frameworks (Tensorflow or PyTorch)
• Experience with NLP models, frameworks, and libraries (Hugging Face, Haystack, etc)
• Experience with fine-tuning LLMs as well as prompt engineering on GPT models
• Experience with Python
• Experience with document databases like Elastic Search or Vespa is a plus
• Proficiency in SQL and Excel is a plus
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
