Overview

Heretic has an immediate opening for an experienced Senior Director of Talent to drive talent acquisition and strategy for Heretic Ventures. The Senior Director of Talent will be responsible for leading hiring efforts for both Heretic’s venture studio team that develops the businesses, and for new portfolio companies that are graduating out of the studio. In this critical role, they will lead search efforts and the candidate management process including candidate sourcing, selection, development, interviews, assessment, and negotiations, in close partnership with Heretic’s Managing Partner and studio leads.  This is an opportunity to work with a small, world-class  high-performing group of investment and entrepreneurship professionals to build companies from the ground up.

In addition, this role will oversee the entire HR function of the venture studio, a group of between 8-12 professionals.

Located in San Francisco’s Presidio, Heretic Ventures is a San Francisco-based venture studio ideating and launching new businesses in the creator economy, including those that capitalize on blockchain / crypto technology. Heretic is run by Managing Partner Mariam Naficy, who founded and built the pioneering internet companies Minted and Eve.com.  Heretic is backed by household names in Silicon Valley (investors and entrepreneurs), who act as the studio’s advisors both in selecting and advising companies.

The Senior Director of Talent role is compensated with a mix of salary, carry in the fund’s investments, and equity stakes in all companies created by the Studio.
