CoinDesk Indices are the industry standard for institutional single- and multi-asset benchmarks for crypto assets. The flagship CoinDesk Bitcoin Price Index (XBX) has been in operation continuously since 2014. Financial institutions rely on the XBX and other CoinDesk Indices products to benchmark billions of dollars in assets under management and to price hundreds of millions in over-the-counter transactions, daily.

CoinDesk Indices is seeking a Senior Index Manager to develop, manage, rebalance and calculate the world’s leading cryptocurrency index offering of industry benchmarks and market indices for index-linked products.The Senior Index Manager will collaborate with Research and Engineering teams to review, launch and maintain new index strategies designed to meet the needs of clients and investors. Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to review, approve, and finalize index methodologies.
• Partner with engineering team to develop and productionize indices and enhance systems and workflows to support the expansion of index offerings.
• Develop and maintain internal workflows and models used to maintain and validate indices.
• Perform and announce index reconstitutions based on index rules.
• Make recommendations on potential changes to Index Methodologies including developing and leading index consultation to solicit market feedback.
• Provide quantitative and qualitative analysis to support recommendations and lead discussions during Index Committee meetings.
• Strong ability to manage and lead projects.
• Provide client responses to index inquiries related to the index data, announcements, and methodologies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the financial industry; specific knowledge of cryptocurrency, alternatives, and/or indexing
• Undergraduate degree in quantitative or financial field such as finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, computer science, or engineering
• Ability to build and support models using excel or other programming language
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to the management and calculation of indices.
• a strong understanding of portfolio/index construction
• Must be curious, a methodical thinker, and detail oriented
• Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complicated concepts

Preferred

• Direct experience managing indices or portfolios.
• Strong programming experience including Python
• CFA or MBA
• Deep technical knowledge of blockchain protocols and smart contracts.
