The DeFi Researcher/Business Analyst will be a key role in supporting Lido’s mission to fulfil its strategic objectives. As part of the Strategic Analytics team within Research Workstream, this role focuses on generating actionable insights, mapping future opportunities, and facilitating alignment across leadership and teams. The role requires a combination of advanced research and strategic analysis to anticipate market shifts, explore opportunities, and streamline the research process for timely, impactful outcomes.

Key Scope

DeFi Research & Business Analytics:

• Conduct self-driven in-depth research into DeFi ecosystems, market trends, and protocols to identify strategic opportunities and potential risks as well as address key research requests from product value streams

• Develop business recommendations through foreseeing, scenario analysis, and cost-benefit evaluations

Research & Strategy Support:

• Translate complex strategic challenges into clear, data-driven research questions and actionable insights

• Analyze the impact of market shifts and emerging trends on Lido DAO long-term goals and recommend actionable solutions

• Provide analytical support for the development of new strategic directions and initiatives

Cross-functional Collaboration:

• Work with product teams, governance groups, and other stakeholders to integrate research findings into broader strategic initiatives

• Facilitate brainstorming sessions and workshops with relevant teams to generate new ideas and tackle open problems.

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing:

• Document and communicate findings through presentations, research reports, and visualized data for both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Update internal knowledge repositories with findings, research papers, and design documents.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in DeFi ecosystems and protocols, with a strong understanding of crypto communities and traditional finance products

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Management, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Advanced analytical skills and strategic thinking with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable strategies

• Proficiency in research methods and business analysis techniques

• Familiarity with data modeling and exploration tools

• Intermediate SQL skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly

• Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, cross-disciplinary environment.

Nice to Haves

• Experience in conducting strategic foresight

• Knowledge of decentralized systems, tokenomics, governance, and incentive mechanisms

• Experience in mechanism design, system design, or protocol economics, preferably in blockchain or Web3 environments

• Previous experience publishing research or presenting at conferences
