About the role
As the Web3 Developer, you will work directly with the founding team to envision, architect, and grow the engineering vertical at Cope. In this role, you will be tasked with leading the technical design and implementation of the product roadmap.

As an early engineer, you will also be integral in setting both company and engineering culture and processes. You will help us evangelize the Cope mission and technology.

What we are looking for
The ideal candidate has worked on NFT products in the past, is driven, passionate about working at an early stage startup, and recognizes the upside, growth, and impact you can in a fast-paced startup environment.

The major pointers we look for are:

• Experience developing web-based consumer-facing applications
• Hands-on experience coding in React.js, Python, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, Solidity, and/or other programming languages
• Familiarity with the NFT standards and experience with DApp development
• Prior experience in deploying complex smart contract systems to leading blockchain networks like Ethereum and Polygon.
• Strong skills in testing, source control, documentation, refactoring, and troubleshooting
• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and product management to understand requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.
• Excellent writing and communication skills with the ability to drive via influence
• Someone who advocates for and understands how to incrementally refactor code to continually improve a codebase while ensuring that the systems are designed to scale.

Your day to day tasks may include the following:

• Develop and maintain performant, scalable, and secure applications
• Write production-quality code in Python, TypeScript, Solidity, and/or other programming languages
• Write unit tests and high-quality documentation
• Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack
• Create tools to automate and optimize development processes
• Research technical approaches and drive decisions on platform components
• Own the responsibility for analysis, design, and implementation of blockchain development
• Writing, testing, and deploying Ethereum smart contracts and building the System design (oracles, services, etc) around the product
• Become a core leader in a very passionate team in a friendly environment
• Become a key member in Cope’s blockchain strategy and consensus related inquiries
