DESCRIPTION:

The Data Compliance Analyst position is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate individual to join the team at Foundry, a subsidiary of the blockchain industry’s most prolific and active investor, Digital Currency Group. Reporting to the Compliance Officer, the Data Compliance Analyst will be a key member of the compliance team responsible for promoting a culture of privacy and data protection across the company, monitor data protection laws and regulations, developing policies and procedures, and organizational training.

This is a rare invitation to join a small, highly professional entrepreneurial group, with the backing of the most established player in the fast-growing crypto space.

This position is based at Foundry HQ in Rochester, NY.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory measures pertaining to data protection, conduct gap analyses and report findings to internal stakeholders;
  • Identify and maintain a pulse on emerging industry trends related to privacy;
  • Help ensure controls are in place to provide and maintain a secure and regulatory compliant technology environment by focusing attention on all aspects of compliance, including but not limited to CCPA and GDPR;
  • Support Legal and Enterprise Risk with executing third party risk management function;
  • Assist internal business partners with various reviews and audits, including SOC 2; and
  • Assist the Compliance Officer with ongoing projects and any ad-hoc requests.


ABOUT YOU:

Minimum Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience;
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with US and/or European data, privacy, information security standards, and regulations;
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing regulatory environment;
  • Ability to distil and discern information from guidance, regulations and legislation;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision;
  • Strong passion for blockchain technology and digital assets; and
  • Positive attitude with great sense of humor.

Preferred Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Prior experience working in crypto space
  • Familiarity with zero-knowledge proof
  • Relevant industry certification
