About The Role

As part of the Blockchain Research team, you will be primarily responsible for providing the required engineering pedigree for bridging the gap between an ambitious research idea, a working prototype, and a high quality production code. The projects are likely to involve novel approaches and trade-offs and require engineering creativity.

Research engineers will work closely with research scientists and the engineering team on prototyping novel research ideas and exploring their feasibility for production. At the same time, research engineers will help refine these ideas or likely come up with new ones.

Some example projects are fast authenticated storage, scalable consensus, and efficient parallel execution. Some common requirement themes are performance and scalability characteristics, quality of required abstractions, usability and integration.

What we’re looking for:

• PhDs and SW engineers at all levels with a passion to deploy novel research in production
• Great communication skills
• Experience with one of the following areas is an advantage:
• Distributed systems, (e.g. consensus and storage)
• Cryptography (e.g. zero knowledge proofs and anonymous payments)
• Concurrency
• Programing languages
• Smart contracts
• Databases
