We’re an early-stage startup that believes blockchain protocols can play a critical role in furthering our mission to pioneer an open creator economy. We’re looking for a strong backend engineer to join our team and lead all aspects of blockchain network and protocol strategy at Islands. As the lead protocol engineer on the team, you’ll get to work at all levels: everything from contributing to the product roadmap, all the way through to crafting a thoughtful strategy for blockchain and protocol integrations. Succeeding in this role will require effectively balancing the immediate needs of the business and consumers while making progress against long term strategic efforts that we hope will unlock economic value for creators and their communities through innovation in payments and user experience.

We're particularly interested in hearing from candidates with prior experience building and leading payments platform strategy from early to hyper-growth scale and strong engineering management skills in a remote or hybrid-remote setting. Our ideal candidate would be an experienced distributed systems engineer with a broad understanding of crypto payments networks including blockchains like Ethereum.
