Who We Are: Solana is a high-performance blockchain that enables decentralized applications and systems to scale without sacrificing security. Solana Labs is the team behind the original protocol and the developer of products to be used on top of the Solana blockchain. We’re now expanding into the mobile space, with Solana Mobile, a mobile-first initiative focused on empowering mobile users to interact seamlessly with the Solana ecosystem. We're particularly excited about our upcoming Seeker mobile device, set to launch later this year, and we're looking for a talented individual to help bring our mobile vision to life. Overview: We are seeking a Product Manager who is passionate about mobile technology and blockchain. In this role, you will be responsible for defining, executing, and delivering product initiatives for Solana Mobile, particularly focused on the Seeker mobile device and Solana Mobile platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to define clear product requirements, ensure seamless execution, and drive the successful launch of new features. This is a hands-on role where you’ll ensure that defined product features are delivered efficiently, while maintaining a strong focus on timelines, technical feasibility, and customer satisfaction. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-impact environment and contribute directly to the development and success of mobile products within the Solana ecosystem. Responsibilities:

Define and manage product requirements for Solana Mobile initiatives, with a focus on the Seeker mobile device and Solana Mobile platform. Lead the product development lifecycle from concept through to delivery, ensuring on-time execution of new features. Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other teams to define and align product features, ensuring they meet both business and technical requirements. Define and track key product metrics, gather customer feedback, and iterate on product features based on insights. Maintain and manage the product roadmap, ensuring features and tasks are clearly prioritized for successful delivery. Facilitate cross-team communication to ensure clarity on requirements, milestones, and expectations. Communicate product updates, progress, and key insights to stakeholders effectively. Support troubleshooting and issue resolution during the product development lifecycle. Work closely with marketing, sales, and customer support teams to ensure product success in the market. Ensure that the products meet the needs of the target users and contribute positively to the broader Solana ecosystem.

Requirements:

2+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on execution and delivering mobile or tech products. Proven ability to ship 0 to 1 products in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with an ability to manage multiple projects at once. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, marketing) to deliver high-quality products. Ability to communicate product goals, updates, and results clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to execute on ideas and deliver results. Data-driven mindset, using customer feedback and metrics to inform decisions. A hands-on, proactive approach to product execution in a fast-moving environment.

Nice to Have:

Experience in the blockchain or crypto space, particularly with mobile products or mobile tech, or mobile-first applications. Familiarity with mobile hardware and software development. Understanding of mobile-first product design and user experience. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and product management tools.

Is Web3 all open source?

Web3, also known as the decentralized web, is a term that refers to the next evolution of the internet, where users have more control over their data and online interactions

As a concept, Web3 is not necessarily tied to any specific technology or platform, so it's difficult to say whether it is all open source

However, many of the technologies and platforms that are associated with Web3, such as blockchain and decentralized applications (dApps), are open source

This allows developers to freely access, modify, and distribute the source code for these technologies, which helps to promote innovation and collaboration within the Web3 ecosystem.
