About the Team:

The Compliance function at OKX is responsible for the overall compliance culture at the company. We’re a team of risk-minded problem solvers who advise the business on the company’s regulatory obligations and enterprise risk. AML/CFT and Sanctions risk management is a core pillar of our Compliance programme and a key area of risk that we proactively seek to mitigate.

What You'll be Doing:

  • Develop, implement and maintain robust AML-CTF and sanctions compliance policies, procedures, controls, and frameworks that are in line with AUSTRAC and other legislative requirements.
  • Provide direction, training and advisory support in relation to the Australian business on AML-CTF and Sanctions.
  • Engaging cross-functionally (with groups such as Data, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Product, and Risk) to implement an effective AML-CTF and sanctions compliance management program that is in line with the global standards and industry best practices.
  • Ensuring compliance with the AUSTRAC reporting obligations, including suspicious matter reporting.
  • Oversee compliance reviews and investigations.
  • Prepare Compliance reports, including reports to management and the board, and other materials as required by direct and matrix stakeholders and submit timely.
  • Assist with special projects as needed, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

What We Look For in You:

  • At least 8 years of AML-CTF and sanctions compliance experience in the financial services industry in an in-house capacity (e.g. banks, payments, crypto).
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as an MLRO for a financial services company in Australia.
  • Experience relating to payments and crypto will be assessed favourably.
  • Detailed knowledge of AUSTRAC AML-CTF and sanctions requirements.
  • Knowledge of and enthusiasm for the crypto industry.
  • Being proactive about monitoring effectiveness of controls post implementation of relevant compliance practices.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Degree in Law, Accountancy, Finance, Economics or in a related subject; or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven ability to work within and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, critical thinker and adept at working independently and in a dispersed team environment covering multiple and varied tasks.
  • Intuitive, highly ethical and comfortable to question and challenge.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to provide pragmatic and innovative compliance solutions that allow striking the balance between effective risk management and business objectives.

Nice to Haves:

  • Prior experience interacting with ASIC and AUSTRAC
  • Prior experience working in a US multinational or matrix environment
  • Prior experience working in the crypto industry
  • Certification by professional bodies such as the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS).
