Sentinel provides tooling for monitoring, extracting and analyzing data from the Filecoin network. This data includes on-chain metrics and events and off-chain information like price points or Filecoin’s peer-to-peer network health.

What we're looking for

We are looking for strong data engineers to join us and work on data pipeline for Sentinel and Protocol Labs. Who will create the source of truth of data, create reports for internal/external partners, bring insight of the Filecoin data to community.

As a Data Engineer for Infra, you will...

• Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines and data models.
• Maintain and improve high impact dashboards and other reporting tools.
• Work with stakeholders to define data reporting requirements.
• Conduct design and code reviews on projects within the Sentinel and data warehousing repositories.
• Support and administration of various columnar and relational databases.
• Collaborate with other data engineers to create a self-service data platform.
• Champion Protocol Labs’ GRC strategy for data governance, risk management, privacy, security, quality, and retention, ensuring compliance with legal and business requirements.

You may be a fit for this role if you have....

• 3+ years experience in software engineering or related field.
• Strong programming experience in Python, Go or other languages.
• Experience with data modeling and schema design.
• A strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Ability to write understandable and performant SQL queries.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• TimescaleDB
• Fivetran
• Kafka
• Hadoop or Spark
• A query engine such as Presto or Trino
