Your Role
- As Head of Backend Development, you will:
- Take full ownership of backend teams, structures, and engineering operations
- Lead, mentor, and grow backend engineering teams with a strong people-first approach
- Build a high-performance culture focused on quality, scalability, and delivery
- Oversee technical execution, resource planning, and team capacity management
- Ensure smooth backend operations, code quality, and architectural consistency
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align backend strategy with business goals
- Own and improve delivery KPIs such as velocity, stability, incident response, and team satisfaction
- Drive backend team hiring, onboarding, and performance management processes
- Represent backend engineering in leadership meetings and strategic planning
What We’re Looking For
- 15+ years of professional experience in backend software development (preferably in .NET technologies)
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing backend engineering teams at scale
- High Learning Agility capacity,
- Deep understanding of backend architectures, including microservices, APIs, and distributed systems
- Prior experience in the banking or fintech industry is strongly preferred
- Excellent people management, coaching, and organizational design capabilities
- Hands-on experience with agile methodologies and engineering delivery frameworks
- Ability to balance technical depth with operational and people leadership
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Proven success in managing backend operations in fast-paced, high-growth environments
