The Department:Payments

The Payments Operations Team at Gemini are thought leaders in the digital asset payments operations space. Our mandate is to bridge the traditional world of finance with the innovation of cryptocurrency products, providing our clients with a best-in-class financial institution experience.

The Role: Principal, Payments Growth Operations

Reporting to the Director of Payment Operations, this role will be a key contributing partner in the overall evolution of Gemini’s global Payments ecosystem and a critical participant in the implementation of a best-in-class Payments architecture and Payments Operations infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Product Management to write technical PRDs, manage backlogs, and effectively prioritize new features vs. tech debt. Approximate time spent ~20%; Expected outcome: Development of key process/workflow documentation and enhancements with new payment flows.
  • Build and evaluate business cases and quantitative models that will inform and influence payments strategy and product roadmap. Approximate time spent ~20%; Expected outcome: Creation of sophisticated models and business cases that will drive payment strategies and assist with decision making.
  • Steer long term payments projects in coordination with senior stakeholders. Approximate time spent ~15%; Expected outcome: Co-lead payment projects and teams collaborating with upstream and downstream stakeholders.
  • Partner with Data and Engineering teams to enhance Gemini’s payments data and analytics infrastructure.Approximate time spent ~15%; Expected outcome: Improved visibility and transparency into payments data and related analytics.
  • Define and synthesize key payments related metrics. Approximate time spent ~5%; Expected outcome: Creation of critical KPI’s that assist in payment optimization and operations - benefits include reduced fraud, improved payment processing times, etc.
  • Initiate new features to scale, optimize, and grow payments systems. Approximate time spent ~15%; Expected outcome: improved customer payment experience, faster processing times, reduced fraud, etc.
  • Identify areas of operational risk and develop mitigation strategies. Approximate time spent ~5%; Expected outcome: Improved payment processing operations, reduced fraud, development of mitigation techniques that will be utilized across the payments processing spectrum.
  • Partner with Business Development and Customer Support teams to improve operational efficiencies. Approximate time spent ~5%; Expected outcome: Improved customer payment processing times, increased customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years Payments experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Knowledge of SQL, database structures and tables
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to function independently and efficiently while working from home
