Our Video Editor will play a critical role in creating original video content across our various channels, primarily telling true human stories central to emerging technologies. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in editing a variety of formats and types of projects, including: long form documentary series, short documentaries, teasers, sizzles, and short-form videos tailored for various social media platforms. The video editor will also be our lighthouse for post production: coordinating workflows and potentially implementing strategic initiatives for video post production.
What You'll Do
- Edit long form and short documentary series, and standalone docs.
- Edit captivating and timely short-form videos. (platform optimized Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Twitter)
- Edit teasers and sizzles.
- Identify and make social cuts from longer-form videos to reach content across different channels.
- Lead completion of longer form video initiatives and projects, ensuring high quality and timely delivery.
- Establish and streamline video editing processes and workflows to improve efficiency and productivity.
What You'll Need
- Familiarity and interest in NFTs, Web3, AI, and related emerging technologies is essential.
- Experience and passion for editing documentary content for web/digital publishers, and tv/film. Feature films and series work a plus.
- Extensive understanding of video editing and the post-production process.
- Intuitive storyteller who can execute closely with a director or completely on autopilot.
- Expert experience working with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Proven track record and portfolio of creating, editing, and ideally finishing and delivering excellent work creatively and technically
- Flexible working with different content, such as verite, interviews, archival, animation, journalism, and recreation.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly in areas of pacing, music, and on-screen text integration. Speedy, efficient and hyper organized.
- Has “the eye” for what makes great social content, hooks, and teasers and can guide others in this area.
- Experience with brand, commercial clients is a major bonus as some projects may be sponsored.
- NYC-area based is strongly preferred.
