This software Engineering Manager position is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate individual to join the team at Foundry, a subsidiary of the blockchain industry’s most prolific and active investor, Digital Currency Group. Reporting to the VP of Engineering, the Engineering Manager will lead the efforts of managing our growing team of software engineers in Bangalore, India.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the software engineering team in Foundry’s Bangalore office by mentoring and developing team members through 1:1s and on the job coaching; effectively evaluate and manage individual performance.
- Work closely with your Engineering Manager counterparts to ensure the success of your software engineering team in Foundry’s Bangalore office; your software engineering direct reports - based in Foundry’s Bangalore office - will be supporting Engineering Managers across Foundry’s products and services.
- Empower your software engineering team to successfully complete team, organization, and company-wide goals.
- Lead and contribute to the development of software engineering standards, best-practices, metrics, and tooling.
- Engage externally with partners, conferences, universities, and open-source groups to recruit and expand the Foundry
- Evaluate, hire, and on-board candidates based on organizational need, technical skill set, and cultural fit.
- Help us scale and manage the success of Foundry’s Bangalore office, working closely with Foundry’s Chief Technical Officer.
ABOUT YOU:
Minimum Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience and success managing software engineering teams
- Experience and success systematically scaling software engineering teams
- Experience working with US and/or European companies
- Strong software engineering background
- Strong knowledge or experience with distributed systems and processes
- Experience architecting, developing, and delivering software products.
- Experience with hiring, building, and developing a team, preferably within a startup environment.
- Passionate about technology and interested in various crypto assets, blockchain, and tech entrepreneurship.
- Deep experience with product lifecycle management and improving software products through metrics and experimentation.
- Experience with DORA and engineering performance metrics
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment where requirements and goals may change rapidly.
- Prior experience with domain-driven design
Preferred Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Technical Skills
- MS (Computer Science, Computer Engineering) or Equivalent.
- B.E (Computer Science) or Equivalent. MCA.
- Minimum 3 Years experience managing Software Engineering teams
- Minimum 5 Years experience in Software engineering.
- AWS Developer Certification
- Microsoft Azure Fundamentals
- IEEE Certified Software Engineer Certificate – Preferable, not mandatory
- Strong knowledge of continuous integration and deployment with industry standard tooling
- Strong Knowledge of Linux operating systems
- Strong knowledge of containerization
- Solid understanding of relational and time series databases
- Solid understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure and Google Cloud
- Solid understanding of network concepts (switches, firewalls, load balancers, intrusion detection)
- Solid understanding of logging, monitoring, and alerting tools
- Experience with scripting languages
- Experience with SDLC processes
