Blockdaemon is looking for a full-time, highly motivated and driven Delivery Manager to join our Blockchain Operation. You lead up to 3 Engineering Squads to deliver new and existing products to customers and maintain service availability for the portfolio of protocols we support. You will work closely with our Squad Team Leaders to optimize productivity and deliver at pace, whilst liaising with Project Managers to deliver features as part of cross functional/cross team projects.
The ideal candidate will be a natural leader with a background in IT Service Operations and/or a Scrum Master role, as you will be balancing demands from a software development and live service perspective. The teams follow typical sprint cycles and we are heavy users of JIRA and Confluence, so experience of Atlassian tools is a big plus.
As part of a rapidly growing multi-skilled team, you will be expected to contribute to all areas of delivery and proactively identify opportunities for process improvements, working with the team to implement the desired changes.
In this role you will:
- Lead team Stand Ups to collaborate on priorities and direct the teamâs work
- Work with Account Managers and review Salesforce data to plan Sprint activities, delivering customer requests in agreed order of priority, providing stakeholders with updates on progress (supported by the Protocols Project Manager)
- Plan maintenance sprints
- Provide Capacity plans for Squads to determine availability for different types of work (project V maintenance)
- Work closely with the Protocols Project Manager and other Protocol Delivery Managers to coordinate work and optimise outputs across teams
- Liaise with the Quality Assurance team and plan and deliver fully tested and âdoneâ features/functionality
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product and other stakeholders to ensure the team is provided with clear requirements (via Epics and User Stories) and an agreed âdefinition of doneâ prior to accepting work into sprints.
- Ensure work is fully estimated and team velocity is measurable, proving progress reporting as required
- Provide Project Managers/Stakeholders with impacts/estimates of work requests to support planning activities
- Work with the Site Reliability Engineers and other teams as required to understand any dependencies, and work with the Project Manager to plan work accordingly
- Identify Risks Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies for work requests and share with the Protocols Project Manager, collaborating with them to identify and implement mitigating actions where necessary
- Identity and implement process improvements to optimize ways of working
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in IT Software Delivery/Operations
- Familiarity with SaaS implementations, technical integrations, software rollouts
- Ability to deliver in a fast paced environment, with multiple stakeholders and potentially conflicting priorities
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to quickly establish trust, credibility, network and build relationships at all levels of the organisation
- Excellent team player who is focussed on finding ways to continuously improve how we work
- Must be self-starter and comfortable working independently
- Ability to think creatively, own issues and excel in a fast-paced environment
- Kindness, passion, and collaborative work ethic, with ability to manage conflicting priorities
- Seek and give candid and constructive feedback and value the chance to make an important impact
Big Plus Skills:
- Experience of leading Software Engineering teams
- Experience in working in Project Delivery
- Experience with Asana, Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence), and other project management software
- General knowledge of the dynamic Blockchain industry and concepts
- Agile Project management or Scrum Master qualification
