About Polymarket

Polymarket is the world's largest prediction market platform. We enable individuals to express views on real-world events by trading on outcomes across politics, economics, sports, culture, and current affairs. Built as a peer-to-peer marketplace with no centralized "house," Polymarket aggregates diverse opinions into transparent, market-based probabilities that reflect collective expectations about the future.

We're growing fast — both in terms of volume ($21B traded in 2025) and adoption as an alternative news source. Our ambition is to become a ubiquitous beacon of truth in global media and we need your help adding fuel to the fire.

About the Role

Polymarket is looking for a Senior Android Engineer to help build a world-class trading app on Android. Millions of users follow markets, track positions, and make trades on their phones — and the Android experience needs to match that level of engagement.

This is a high-ownership role for someone who understands what it takes to build a great trading or wagering experience on mobile: the performance requirements, the real-time data challenges, the UI patterns that make fast-moving information feel intuitive rather than overwhelming. You'll raise the bar across the Android codebase and help take a product that's already at scale to the next level.

What You'll Do

  • Build and own Android features spanning payments flows, real-time market data, and core UI with full accountability from design handoff through to production

  • Implement polished, performant interfaces with Jetpack Compose that hold up under real trading conditions and meet a high bar for feel and reliability

  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and Gradle configuration so the team can ship with confidence and without friction

  • Build and maintain integrations across WebSockets, gRPC, and streaming data to power the live market features traders depend on

  • Collaborate effectively with a distributed team, communicate clearly across time zones, and make good decisions without needing close oversight

  • Actively incorporate AI tools into your development workflow to move faster and maintain a high output bar

  • Identify gaps in Android architecture and engineering practices and surface them early, before they become problems at scale

What We're Looking For

  • Strong, current experience with Kotlin — the kind where you can speak concretely to tradeoffs and have opinions

  • Strong, current experience building UI with Jetpack Compose in production apps

  • Practical experience contributing to CI/CD pipelines and managing Gradle build configuration

  • Solid understanding of modern Android architecture and the ability to make sound decisions across it without being hand-held

  • Active use of AI tools in your development workflow — not occasionally, but as a real part of how you work

  • (Plus) Experience integrating payments on Android

  • (Plus) Experience with WebSockets, gRPC, or other real-time data patterns on mobile

  • (Plus) Familiarity with cross-platform shared-code architectures

  • (Plus) iOS or Swift experience

  • (Plus) Background at a larger, more mature engineering organization where you saw practices evolve as the company grew

Benefits

  • Competitive salary & equity

  • Unlimited PTO

  • Full Health, Vision, & Dental coverage

  • 401k match

  • Hardware setup: new MacBook Pro, big display, & accessories
