Senior Crypto Accountant
Location: Remote (U.S. required)

About ABC Labs:
Reserve is a cryptocurrency project, patiently leading the asset-backed currency revolution. We want money that doesn't inflate like USD, but isn’t volatile like Bitcoin. Our approach is to bundle stocks, bonds, gold, real estate, and more into an index, and use that as money. That’s why we built the Reserve Protocol - to let anyone deploy a token that is issuable and redeemable for a basket of any other tokens. Today, the protocol is best used for bundling DeFi assets together to create yield-bearing USD stablecoins and indexes of cryptoassets. As more real world assets are tokenized, we believe the protocol will enable new asset-backed currencies that are mostly or fully independent of fiat money. You can learn more about the vision and the Reserve team here.

ABC Labs contributes to the development of the Reserve protocol and helps to support and grow the Reserve ecosystem.

We are hiring for:

  • Managing daily and monthly crypto accounting processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and transaction reviews for crypto asset activity across DeFi and centralized exchanges.
  • Preparing accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP, ensuring consistency and reliability of our crypto-related reporting.
  • Collaborating closely with Treasury, FP&A, and other cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reflection and valuation of crypto holdings, yield activities, staking, and liquidity positions.
  • Maintaining and optimizing internal controls for crypto transactions, ensuring adherence to best practices for security, custody, and financial risk management.
  • Assisting with tax filing review and GAAP audits, providing comprehensive support for crypto accounting-related inquiries and documentation, collaborating with external auditors and compliance teams.
  • Contributing proactively to process improvements, automating accounting workflows, and enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of crypto accounting systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3–6 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including at least 1–2 years focused on crypto, blockchain, fintech, or related fields.
  • CPA certification or progress is preferred; public accounting/audit background is desirable.
  • Strong working knowledge of crypto accounting frameworks, GAAP accounting standards, and experience navigating complex crypto transaction structures.
  • Experience with crypto accounting software, ERP systems (Xero preferred), and advanced spreadsheet skills (Excel, Google Sheets).
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills with demonstrated experience collaborating across departments and effectively presenting financial insights.

Do blockchain developers work from home?

Yes, many blockchain developers work from home, especially in the current times where remote work has become more common due to the pandemic

The nature of blockchain development allows developers to work from anywhere in the world as long as they have a good internet connection and the necessary tools to do their work

In fact, many blockchain companies have fully remote teams and offer flexible work arrangements

This allows them to hire talented developers from all over the world without being limited by geographical location

However, it's important to note that not all blockchain development jobs are remote

Some companies may prefer to have their developers work on-site for security or other reasons

So, it's important to carefully read the job description and requirements before applying to ensure that you're comfortable with the work arrangements.
