Tally (withtally.com) is hiring a front-end remote engineer in the Americas time zone. We are a small team with a big goal: reinventing the way people collaborate on the internet by building tools for DAOs.

Our tools help run decentralized organizations in Web3 and DeFi protocols like Uniswap, ENS and Gitcoin on the Ethereum blockchain. Tally is a product- and engineering-driven startup. We obsess about improving the user experience. To get there, we need to deeply understand the power and limitations of blockchain tech today, and where it's going over the next few years.

We have a culture of teaching and learning from each other. We welcome and value contributions to code, product and process from all members of our team.

Our team is fully remote. We’re based up and down the Americas from Buenos Aires to New York City. Instead of having offices, we have a budget for travel. We do both team retreats and go to big crypto conferences to meet other people in the space and to keep up with all the cool stuff people are doing.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Building the react web app in typescript
  • Integrating with blockchain data and other APIs
  • Communicating about requirements and engineering tradeoffs to other members of the team
  • Helping product and design properly scope stories and understand engineering costs
  • Continuously improving internal processes, both frontend tooling and – more importantly – human processes
  • Reviewing and providing feedback on code written by your colleagues

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience with frontend web development
  • Able to own, build and operate big parts of the app
  • Strong written communicator
  • Gracious teacher
  • Enthusiastic learner

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Typescript
  • Startup experience
  • Experience with ethereum javascript libraries like ethers or web3
  • Familiarity with blockchain concepts like transactions, mining and smart contracts If you aren’t familiar with this stuff, we’d love to teach you!

Benefits:

  • Fully remote company
  • In the US, 401k match and healthcare insurance
  • Equity/stock options
  • Generous and flexible PTO policy
  • Learning budget for books and online classes
  • Home office budget
  • Option to get in paid crypto

To apply, send us a short note about your interest in Tally and a resume!

Tally focuses on Collaboration, Cryptocurrency, Blockchains, and Blockchain / Cryptocurrency. Their company has offices in Remote. They have a small team that's between 11-50 employees.

What does a React developer in web3 do?

A React developer in the context of web3 is a developer who is using the React JavaScript library to build user interfaces for decentralized applications (dApps) that run on the Ethereum blockchain

These dApps often use smart contracts to facilitate transactions and other interactions on the Ethereum network

Overall, the role of a React developer in web3 involves using your skills in React development to help build cutting-edge decentralized applications that leverage the power of the Ethereum blockchain

As a React developer in web3, some of your responsibilities might include:

  • Integrating the dApp with the Ethereum blockchain. This might involve using tools like web3.js and Ethers.js to connect to the Ethereum network and interact with smart contracts.
  • Building the user interface for a dApp using React. This could involve creating components for the various elements of the dApp, such as buttons, forms, and other input elements.
  • Implementing features that are specific to decentralized applications, such as handling cryptocurrency transactions and displaying data from the blockchain in a user-friendly way.
  • Collaborating with other members of the development team, such as blockchain engineers and designers, to ensure that the dApp functions properly and meets the needs of the end users.
