About the Company

Quant is the foundation of the blockchain economy.

Assets of all kinds, from currencies to carbon credits, are being tokenised on blockchain, making their ownership immutable, their provenance traceable and their use manageable. Our patent-pending technology makes this simple, trusted and future-proof.

We work with financial institutions and corporates to dramatically reduce their time-to-market, create new revenue lines, and mitigate risk by delivering enterprise-grade solutions built with security and compliance front of mind.

Founded in 2018, Quant is UK-based with a US presence. We spearheaded the Blockchain ISO Standard TC307 adopted by 57 countries and solved interoperability with the creation of the world’s first blockchain-agnostic API gateway, Overledger.

The R&D Team

At Quant, our world class R&D team are at the heart of our company, researching cutting edge distributed ledger technologies (DLTs) and building innovative applications that use them. We work in a flexible environment utilising any beneficial process, technique, and/or tool that enables us to focus fully on delivering value at pace and solving problems pragmatically. We are highly collaborative and fiercely protective of our culture. Trust and respect are key to that culture, which is why we’re supportive of one another and don’t shy away from difficult conversations.

The Role

You will be involved in cutting edge research and development in the distributed ledger technology (DLT) domain. You will work with multiple different DLTs to connect them to our main Overledger API gateway product. You will also develop advanced applications that can work across different DLT networks. These applications will focus on interoperability, scalability or privacy use cases.

  • Produce well documented research (written or programmatic) that align with the agreed research objectives.
  • To take an active hands-on approach to all aspects of the research lifecycle including research objectives specification, technical design, and when appropriate, prototype development and testing.
  • Communicate to others your progress, and shape how your research can be implemented in production environments.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering squads to impart your knowledge across.

The technology and tools you will be using:

  • Visual Studio Code and/or IntelliJ
  • AWS
  • DLT specific tools

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience with blockchain/DLT.
  • General knowledge of the blockchain/DLT domain, e.g. with different DLT implementations, smart contracts, consensus protocols, distributed applications and related cryptography.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills - needed for communicating with a wide range of people, both internally and occasionally externally in a professional manner.

Desirable skills or experience

  • Experience with an EVM (Ethereum-based) blockchain and one other type.
  • Some experience of building apps/workflows using blockchain.
  • Experience with continuous integration and deployment processes, working on both greenfield and existing architectures (including strong Git, GitHub experience).
  • A good understanding of microservice architecture/MongoDB/AWS/RPC.
  • Knowledge of any of Docker, Kubernetes, RabbitMq, EMS, Kafka.
  • Experience of working in a dynamic environment often with shifting priorities.
  • Exposure to test driven development, behaviour driven development, test automation, secure by design approaches.

Life at Quant

We aim to be one of the most desirable employers in fintech, somewhere you are valued and inspired to do the best work of your career, alongside a high-performance team that feels the same. That’s why, in addition to a competitive salary and performance-related bonus, we provide:

  • Pension scheme
