The Accountant Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting and taxation within Bitso. This role involves managing the accounting team, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and compliance with tax laws and regulations. Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, coordinating audits, managing tax filings, developing accounting policies, and providing strategic guidance on financial matters to senior management.

Who You Are

  • Proven English fluency.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field
  • At least 8 years of experience in accounting & Taxes including 3 years in a seniorityrole
  • Experience in financial, technological companies or in a Big4
  • Knowledge of IFRS
  • English language proficiency
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong understanding of technical accounting matters and ability to assess accounting treatment in complex areas such as income tax, deferred revenue and expenses, fx accounting etc.
  • Solid knowledge of local tax rules and regulations
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is a must.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams and with cross functional partners
  • Agile sense of work

What You Will Do

  • Preparation and issuance of audited financial statements in accordance with Mexican standards to comply with national laws.
  • Manage the external audit process in accordance with IFRS.
  • Reviews and interprets national and international accounting standards.
  • Prepares and presents monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for different Bitso entities.
  • Handle on site requests from Mexico local regulators (CNBV, BANXICO) by providing required information in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Lead statutory accounting and monthly close process, and major accounting operating processes.
  • Maintaining constant and strong communication with advisors and other team members to ensure the veracity of accounting and financial information and to prepare monthly information for closing.
  • Managing the preparation and filing of corporate tax returns and other tax reports, ensuring compliance with all tax obligations.
  • Analyzing the company's financial position and providing strategic advice to senior management on accounting and tax matters.
