As a Senior/Staff Security Engineer at Superstate, you'll lead our security efforts to protect our infrastructure, applications, and customer data. You'll architect and implement robust security controls that span both traditional web infrastructure and blockchain systems, ensuring our financial products remain secure and compliant.
What you'll do
- Design and implement comprehensive security architecture for our web applications and cloud infrastructure
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards
- Perform security assessments, penetration testing, code reviewsLead external audits of our systems and infrastructure
- Build and maintain security monitoring systems and automated detection capabilities
- Collaborate with the rest of the engineering team to integrate best practices
- Provide security expertise for regulatory compliance (SOC2, ISO, etc.)
What you'll bring to the team
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related technical field
- 10+ years of professional software/security engineering experience
- Extensive experience securing AWS cloud infrastructure and web applications
- Deep knowledge of network security, system hardening, and security architecture
- Expertise in identity and access management systems
- Strong understanding of cryptography and secure data storage practices
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with a security-focused mindset
Bonus points if you have experience with these technologies
- Infrastructure as code (Pulumi or Terraform)
- AWS security services (GuardDuty, Security Hub, WAF, Shield)
- Cloudflare security configurations
- Docker/container security
- CI/CD pipeline security integration
- Blockchain security concepts and best practices
- Threat modeling and risk assessment methodologies
- Zero trust architecture implementation
