About Gator Labs (Creator of Chomp)

• Gator Labs has created an information protocol that leverages social consensus to surface higher signal information that helps people make better decisions, and establish a more accurate common perception of reality.
• We launched our first product, Chomp, in June 2024. Chomp is a quiz/trivia game that leverages Wisdom of the Crowd mechanisms to get you the best answers to your questions. Chomp is a Colosseum Renaissance Global Hackahton winner, the Bonkathon Grand Prize winner, recipient of the Build with Monke grant, and the Bonk DAO grant.
• Our vision extends beyond Chomp, as we aim to create more consumer products that offer gamified social experiences, capturing information to feed into a composable data infrastructure mapped to a reputation graph.
• Gator is led by a founding team of seasoned builders who have successfully built and scaled businesses in both web2 and web3. We are nerds, glass chewers, and dreamers, driven by the belief that crypto has the power to change the world for the better—and that Gator can be a part of that tapestry. We’re not fucking around.

About the role

• You will be an early team member and our first senior engineer. You will work directly with the CTO.
• Ship weekly and have fun.
• Shape the future of information discovery.
• Your responsibilities
  • Design and implement new services. Help shape the future of our off-chain and on-chain architectures.
  • Advance our existing applications. We push new releases every week. You will be responsible for new features and bug fixes.
  • Shape product direction. There are many exciting directions our products could go in. We are very curious which path you think is best.
  • Mentor other engineers. Gator tries to cultivate a friendly and collaborative work environment. Be a team player and help your teammates grow.
  • Research new technologies. Help assess diverse technologies like Telegram bots, Blinks, on-chain identity protocols, and cost efficient data storage options.

About you (see if you fit the bill)

• You code because you enjoy it. Do you have side projects or hackathons you can show off?
• You are interested in what’s possible with crypto beyond DeFI.
• You are independent and don’t need a lot of direction.
• You can architect and implement distributed systems end-to-end.
• Our current tech stack is Typescript, Python, and AWS. You should have strong opinions about what the next generation of our architecture should look like and can articulate a clear path towards execution.
• Bonus: Solana or EVM experience. Other on-chain experiences are great too.
