We’re looking for a Blockchain Forensic Investigator to join our Compliance & Investigations team. You’ll analyze virtual currency transactions, trace illicit activity, and produce actionable intelligence for internal teams and law enforcement. This role involves tackling fraud, money laundering, and emerging crypto threats while working closely with compliance, legal, and cybersecurity teams.

Blockchain Investigations

    • Conduct in-depth investigations using OSINT and blockchain analytics tools (e.g., TRM Labs, Chainalysis, Etherscan)
    • Trace illicit activity and produce clear, actionable intelligence reports

Risk Assessment

    • Perform risk assessments on high-value or suspicious transactions
    • Identify patterns and recommend mitigation strategies

Documentation & Reporting

    • Provide detailed documentation to support legal and compliance workflows
    • Maintain strong records of freeze actions, flags, and investigation steps

Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Work closely with legal, compliance, finance, and support teams
    • Align investigative findings with internal policies and regulatory requirements

Incident Response & Escalation

    • Develop and support rapid response protocols for high-risk incidents
    • Ensure clear escalation paths and follow-up actions are in place

Experience Required

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field
    • 2–4+ years of hands-on experience in blockchain investigations, financial crime analysis, or crypto compliance
    • Proven expertise in using blockchain forensic tools and open-source platforms (e.g., TRM Labs, Chainalysis, Elliptic, Arkham) to trace illicit funds and map wallet activity
    • Demonstrated experience in analyzing blockchain transaction patterns and recognizing suspicious behavior across digital asset ecosystems, including cross-chain and DeFi activity
    • Prior experience working with law enforcement agencies or responding to legal requests is highly desirable

Skills

    • Strong background in open-source intelligence (OSINT) methodologies to identify wallet owners, trace the flow of digital assets, and produce comprehensive reports
    • Ability to recognize and interpret technical identifiers that support remote threat investigations, including usernames, hashed passwords, email addresses, IP addresses, crypto artifacts, mail headers, and server/domain intelligence
    • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to connect multiple data points across different platforms and tools
    • Clear and confident communicator, able to explain complex blockchain concepts through verbal, written, and visual storytelling for both technical and non-technical audiences
