Coral Reef, an open NFT marketplace on Solana, is looking for a Head of Front End Engineering to join our team. As Head of Front End Engineering, you will be responsible for ensuring proper planning and delivery of complex UI/UX projects, setting clear goals for the team, delivering timely feedback and rewards, and helping recruit great engineers. You will work directly with our CTO and our small team of designers and developers to design and implement a smooth, user-friendly, fast, and feel-good UI/UX in the fast moving NFT industry.
We are a small but quickly growing team of blockchain enthusiasts. Our NFT fractionalization project won 1st place in the Solana Hackathon NFT category!
Location: Worldwide (fully remote). Candidates based in United States time zones preferred. Compensation: Market rate + equity.

RESPONSIBILITIES: - Design and build a beautiful UI/UX - Work closely with the co-founders and CTO to align and translate the company’s vision and strategy into a smooth and feel-good user experience - Lead a team of front-end engineers to achieve company goals - Measure and resolve performance bottlenecks - Define technical and product roadmaps and ensure timely delivery of high-quality software - Be a hands-on manager, responsible for inspiring, managing, and growing an engineering team, building a culture of trust and collaboration between engineers and teams across multiple time zones - Assist in planning upcoming marketplace features - Manage projects and design new projects - Attend meetings with ecosystem partners - Assist in hiring of new engineers and in building out the engineering team - Help to integrate partner NFT projects into our platform - Perform industry research to determine best practices - Study tech trends and implement features to improve user experience - Help team to solve some of the foundational problems in the NFT marketplace space
REQUIREMENTS: - An eye for design and user experience. You care about more than just the code. You care about the customer experience and help our users make better decisions while buying and selling NFTs. - Love of learning new things. You love researching new tech and driving forward with the implementation details. Your focus is on frontend JavaScript code, but you can dig in wherever needed. Node.js, GraphQL, NextJS, Nx, build tools, shell scripts, you name it. If you don't already know it, you're ready to learn it. - Understand performance, A/B tests, web vitals, front end optimization and can write code to bring them to life too. - An eye for the aesthetics and engineering of what makes a beautiful and smooth UI/UX experience - An up-to-date body of knowledge on the latest front end technologies - Several years of professional front end development experience - Expert with JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 - Expert with modern JavaScript frameworks (React/Angular/Vue), especially with React - A passion for the cryptocurrency and NFT space. Bonus if you are active in the Solana community. - Experience managing an engineering team - Experience with blockchain software development - Good understanding of blockchain, cryptocurrencies, and NFTs - Ability to communicate with technical and business stakeholders, and to foster positive engineering cultures - Fluent English speaker.
