We're looking for a Product Designer whose primary focus is to help evolve the Newton product and to deliver a best in class user experience to our customers. As part of the design department, you’ll report to the VP of Design and get an opportunity to work in small cross-functional teams to craft journey’s and features that delight our users.

Moreover; our team is responsible for company-wide creative output, so there is always a variety of projects and opportunities to challenge yourself and learn new skills that you may not have had the opportunity to learn in other product roles (illustration, animation, physical product design, etc.)

As a Product Designer, you will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with a cross functional team of product and development folks to design how Newton’s products and features look, feel, and move -Driving the user research and the discovery process to inform your work -Designing and iterating on solutions based on the team’s research, customer needs, and business objectives -Owning and managing end-to-end communications throughout the design process, including running design critiques, handing off to developers, and discussing solutions with key stakeholders. -Coordinating with developers to assess technical constraints for your designs, and work with the Product Manager to make the right tradeoffs between user experience & development complexity -Owning the design process for your project, and being vigilant in diagnosing UX and UI problems -Collaborating with a fast-moving team, in a stimulating and ever-evolving environment that prioritizes autonomy and professionalism over micromanagement

Must haves

-You are an overall product design expert with deep expertise spanning web, desktop, and mobile contextsYou are just as comfortable with quantitative and qualitative research as working through high fidelity designs with multiple states -You have successfully shipped multiple products and understand the ‘gotchas’ that are required for a successful outcome  -You possess not just tactical product design skills, but the ability to implement strategic and conceptual thinking that can guide on-the-ground decisions as well (thinking about scalability, future proofing, etc.) -You have a compelling portfolio of work that demonstrates high-quality design work that also tells a story that you are a deep design thinker -You love exploring the latest and greatest in design tools while keeping emerging design patterns and visual treatments on your radar -You have experience working in a highly iterative environment and understand the importance of presenting multiple options before landing on the right one

Skills

-3-5 years of experience working as a visual or digital designer on an in-house or agency creative team -Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Design field or equivalent experience- Solid understanding of Interaction design principles and the ability to drive early discovery and user research activities -Masterful command of digital design principles and experience in creating and managing complex digital products, design systems, and clickable prototypes -Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS and a strong command of working within Webflow -Have motion graphics knowledge and experience and can define microinteractions to go with their design solutions (bonus points for prototyping software like Protopie / Principle) -Experience with a modern product design toolchain that includes: Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (bonus points if you are comfortable with AfterEffects), Miro, Jira, etc.

They may work for large corporations, small businesses, or as freelance designers, and often collaborate with other designers, engineers, and manufacturers to bring their designs to life

In web3, a product designer is responsible for designing and creating decentralized applications (dApps) and other products that leverage blockchain technology, smart contracts, and decentralized networks

This involves understanding the unique technical and functional requirements of web3 products, as well as the principles of decentralization, transparency, and user ownership

Web3 product designers need to be familiar with blockchain technology, smart contract programming languages, and decentralized networks, in order to design products that can operate effectively in a decentralized environment

They need to be able to work with developers and other stakeholders to ensure that the product is designed in a way that maximizes user control and ownership, while minimizing the potential for fraud or malicious activity

Web3 product designers may work on a range of products, such as decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms, non-fungible token (NFT) marketplaces, decentralized social networks, and more

They may also work closely with blockchain developers, economists, and other specialists to create products that are both innovative and practical, while maintaining a strong focus on user experience.
