As a Senior Backend Programmer on the Blockchain team, you are responsible for implementing backend services that interface with blockchains and expose APIs used by games, web apps, and other client-facing services. You are expected to co-operate with other teams to find solutions to difficult problems and can design performant and scalable systems. The ideal candidate has experience in developing complex backend services in a microservice architecture, is familiar with both on-premises and managed cloud solutions, and has a strong understanding of blockchain technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement reliable and scalable systems that enable access to blockchains.
  • Design and implement APIs that expose blockchain features to games, web apps, and various frontends.
  • Debug complex service issues and identify and fix bugs.
  • Understand thoroughly how the backend services are designed and connected to each other.
  • Prioritize, plan, and manage assigned tasks.
  • Communicate clearly with other team members with minimal external help.
  • Proactively look for optimizations and how the system could work more efficiently.
  • Mentor team members in your area of expertise.
  • Stay curious and up to date on blockchain technology and related industry trends.


Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a Backend, Online Services, or similar programmer role.
  • Strong Go programming and debugging skills.
  • Strong understanding of distributed ledger technology.
  • Experience with RESTful services, distributed systems, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and scaling microservice systems.
  • Good understanding of micro and monolith services.
  • Self-motivated and driven to creatively solve problems.
  • (Bonus) Experience deploying and maintaining blockchain infrastructure.
  • (Bonus) Experience with EVM, the Ethereum protocol, and smart contract development
