What you’ll be responsible for:

The Circle Security Team works to protect Circle; our customers, clients and partners; and the financial markets upon which we rely. The security engineering team leads preventive security across the company. As the leader for data protection, you’ll establish and deploy an enterprise data protection program and be responsible for key deliverables of the security program while collaborating across Circle teams. You will continue to learn and stay current in a fun and rapidly evolving environment.

What you'll work on:

  • Build an enterprise data protection security program informed by SOX, PCI and regulatory-driven requirements (GDPR and CCPA). Partner with the Data Protection Officer and Privacy Counsel to implement the program and ensure compliance with relevant industry best practices and regulations.
  • Create and implement data handling and protection security standards and procedures against regulatory and risk-based requirements.
  • Drive awareness through an enterprise training to help employees understand the program and requirements.
  • Work closely with Security leadership including the Director, Identity and Access Management to drive alignment of access and appropriate data protection; and with Security Engineering to drive product and tooling changes required to meet obligations (NY DFS/FFEIC/GDPR).
  • Identify and drive delivery of data classification tooling, data inventory and protection requirements for the company.
  • Establish metrics and key risk indicators to provide Enterprise Risk Management Committee comprehensive view of risk and required actions.

What you’ll bring to Circle:

  • 12+ years of total experience in privacy and security data protection at an enterprise level.
  • 5+ years of experience building and managing small to medium sized teams.
  • Self-motivated and creative problem solver able to work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and use good judgment to establish priorities on the fly.
  • Experience working in financial services or financial technology desired.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, cyber security or related field. Equivalent experience is also accepted.
  • Experience with PCI, GDPR and CCPA a must.
  • Certifications such as CIPM, CISSP, IAPP, CIPT considered a strong preference.

The compensation range below is specific to Miami, FL. Actual starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to: relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, and other business and organizational needs. Please note that compensation ranges may differ for candidates in other locations.

Base Pay Range: $200,000 - $280,000

Annual Bonus Target: 20%

Also Included: Equity & Benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)). Circle has a discretionary vacation policy. We also provide 10 days of paid sick leave per year and 11 paid holidays per year in the U.S.
