Who We Are

At Anza, we're at the forefront of crypto, developing the Agave client to enhance Solana — a blockchain designed for rapid growth without compromising security or scalability. We also pioneer advanced developer tooling to meet the evolving demands of decentralized applications.

The Role

We’re hiring a Runtime Engineer to help advance Solana’s execution layer. In this role, you’ll work on JIT compilers, virtual machines, and toolchain optimizations—focusing on performance, security, and scalability. You’ll collaborate with core engineers and ecosystem teams to solve deep infrastructure challenges and drive high-performance execution for the fastest Layer 1 blockchain.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage experience with compiler and linker development for improving the toolchain and implementing compiler backends and linker changes
  • Improve and maintain JIT compilers and virtual machines, focusing mostly on security
  • Work with cross-functional teams within the company to identify and implement solutions to complex architectural problems
  • Engage with internal customers and deliver answers/updates/features to support their development
  • Stay connected with open source and research communities to follow up and lead the latest and upcoming trends and needs from them
  • Participate in technical discussions and reviews both synchronously and asynchronously

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience working with compilers and preferably runtimes
  • Proficient with advanced C++ or Rust development
  • Experience with LLVM (preferably) or cranelift internals and back-end specifics
  • Experience working with Clang, Swift, or other projects that use LLVM
  • Experience with JIT compilers, virtual machines, and their security implications
  • Hands off work attitude that requires minimal supervision; being proactive and self-motivated for timely delivery of quality code
  • Experience with comprehensive testing methodologies (unit test, integration tests etc)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with JIT compilation and low-level instruction sets a plus
  • Knowledge of computer architecture, touching on cache management, virtualization and x86 instructions
  • Publications in top tier Compilers or System Conferences such as PLDI, POPL, CGO
  • Experience collaborating on an open-source project

Why Join Anza?
