Job Summary:
Blavity Inc. is looking for a passionate Web3 Community Manager to grow and engage our current AfroTech Discord community and future Web3 communities. This is a (1099) contractor position which will help set the strategy to grow and monitor the online community across communication channels such as Discord, Telegram, Twitter and more. The ideal candidate is obsessed with community building, educating, onboarding and empowering Black people in the Web3 ecosystem and can do that through written, virtual and in-person communication.
It is key that this person is masterful at simplifying complex narratives uniquely crafted for the audience being addressed and can speak just as skillfully to a room full of Web3 novices as a room full of Web3 experts.
This role will initially report directly to the Chief of Staff, CEO and will be ~10 hours per week.
Contractors will be responsible for providing their own equipment, including but not limited to laptop computers, cell phones, or any other electronic equipment required to perform their role.
Responsibilities:
  • Grow and manage the AfroTech community on Discord
  • Build and grow our soon-to-be-launched Web3 Builder community on Telegram
  • Post and engage daily across all Web3 community channels
  • Partner with a team of moderators as the community grows
  • Engage and partner with other communities and key influencers & stakeholders to bring new people into our community
  • Build, nurture, and manage relationships with target audience groups, influencers, and community and industry stakeholders
  • Be responsive and help community members both onboard onto Web3 in general and onto the AlphaNoire community
  • Collaborate with Content Team to develop educational and awareness-building content to amplify education, awareness and evangelization efforts
  • Coordinate with the Product and Marketing teams to establish a regular cadence of announcements, promotions and giveaways
  • Set goals for, track and report on community-related metrics ensuring upwards visibility as well as helping to inform on metrics’ significance
  • Schedule, manage and promote webinars, office hours, AMA’s, guest moderators, Twitter Spaces and other live events on Discord
  • Develop relationships with community managers from other communities
  • Set the high level strategy for community growth and retention
  • Serve as main liaison on Twitter with our community
  • Work with Social Media Manager on what content and posts resonate with our community across visual platforms such as Instagram and TikTok
  • Maintain and monitor analytics of community growth and engagement
  • Work with the company on activations to drive growth and engagement

Qualifications:
  • Education: HS diploma or equivalent
  • Required Experience:
    • 2+ years of experience in the Web3 space
    • 3+ years of established online community management or content marketing experience
    • Knowledge of Web3, Discord, Twitter, NFTs, and more. This role requires you to already have experience being a part of and managing Web3 communities
    • Demonstrable track record of public speaking, content creation or regularly participating on podcasts or similar media
  • Technologies: Experience with Telegram and advanced Discord management features including: bots, token gating, live event management, etc.
  • Additional Qualifications:
    • Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
    • Experience working in a startup environment where done is better than perfect and speed wins.
    • You thrive in constantly evolving environments and are quick on your feet to pivot as needed. You demonstrate the ability to discern, communicate, and uphold online community guidelines
    • A healthy appreciation of GIFs and Black culture

Details: This is a fully remote role, occasional travel may be required. Candidates must be available to work at least 50% in alignment with the Pacific Time Zone.
