What you’ll be responsible for:

Circle is looking for a seasoned and practical professional who is interested in helping to build a first class tax department. This role will support the Product teams including participating in product reviews, ensuring that tax risks are identified and mitigated and helping translate tax requirements into practical implementation guidance. This will also play a key role in the tax department’s tax technology implementations and will provide project management support for the wider tax team.

What you'll work on:

• Supporting the Tax/Product relationship on an end-to-end basis, which consists of serving as a Tax point of contact for product reviews and launch readiness, as well as ensuring that any tax reporting requirements arising from the operation of Circle products are met.
• Identifying indirect tax, information reporting obligations, and any other relevant issues as part of the product review process.
• Partnering with other Finance partners as part of an integrated risk management framework which includes Tax, Accounting, Treasury, and FP&A.
• Manage external adviser adviser relationships and budget.
• Assisting with monitoring regulatory developments which impact product build and data reporting requirements and partnering with Product / Engineering to incorporate new requirements as needed.
• Identifying opportunities to improve tax operations with tax technology tools and assisting with the implementation.
• Leading Tax project management operations by identifying, tracking and helping drive forward tax deliverables and meet deadlines for key projects.
• Helping with other tax department projects as needed.

What you’ll bring to Circle:

• 7+ years of professional experience with at least 1 of relevant experience supporting product teams.
• Ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-Tax teammates effectively to ensure awareness and understanding of risk management profile.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally to solve problems.
• Proven experience managing fast paced projects involving multiple stakeholders
• High tolerance for ambiguity, and the ability to consistently articulate clear advice and guidance in the face of rapidly changing facts.
• Experience with tax technology, including involvement in configuration and implementation.
• Prior Fintech or Crypto experience preferred.
• Experience/familiarity with Slack, Apple MacOS and GSuite.

Starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to: relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, and other business and organizational needs. Please note that compensation ranges may differ for candidates in other locations.

Base Pay Range: 130,000 - 170,000

Annual Bonus Target: 15%
